To the women in the locker room…

Well…It finally happened. I was shamed for semi-public nursing. I say semi-public because it was in a women’s locker room after infant swim class. You read that right folks. The women’s locker room. Where there are boobs for days. Yet, somehow using my boobs to feed my baby is “Not allowed in here” and “Really inappropriate”. I stood up for myself, obviously, and I’ve contacted the aquatics manager to make them aware of the issue. It was not staff who did the shaming, so it’s not technically their fault. However, I do feel that they are responsible for creating a safe environment and bullying should not be tolerated. It’s been a hot second since I’ve felt bullied. And it sucks because now I don’t feel comfortable there, these ladies were clearly regulars and it was my first class. If this is the general consensus of the group then it’s not a safe place for me or my child. Period. I’m trying to take the high road, but I really just want to make a huge stink and go back in there boobs a blazing. And to think at one point, when my gal was fussy, I was seconds close to nursing her in the pool during class. The would have blown their minds for sure.
